The Steward's Assessment
Discover where you are governing well — and where the entire structure of your life is at risk.
How This Works
No one sees these answers but you and God. Be honest.
Most men cannot tell you which area of their life is closest to collapse. They are too busy managing the noise to diagnose the structure.
This 25-question assessment evaluates your life as a steward across the five pillars: Christ at the Center, Family in Order, Business as Asset, Daily Discipline, and Eternal Legacy.
Each pillar is rated from 5 to 25. Your total score reveals where you stand. Your weakest pillar reveals where the next 90 days of work belong.
This will take about 8 minutes. Your weakest pillar will tell you which of the seven STEWARDSHIP volumes to read next.
1. I spend intentional time with God daily (prayer, Scripture, meditation) before checking my phone or starting work.
2. My decisions are governed by Biblical principles, not just market logic or personal ambition.
3. I know the difference between my identity in Christ and my identity in my business — and I live from the first one.
4. I have an accountability partner or group where I am genuinely transparent about my struggles.
5. I can honestly say that God — not fear, ego, money, or urgency — is the primary governor of my life right now.
6. My spouse would say that I am emotionally present and engaged at home — not just physically there.
7. I have regular, intentional time with each of my children (or key family members) that is not interrupted by work.
8. I lead my family spiritually — I pray with/for them, initiate spiritual conversations, and set the spiritual tone.
9. My family would agree that our home follows the order: God > Family > Work (not the reverse).
10. I have a regular rhythm of connecting deeply with my spouse (a weekly meeting, date, or intentional conversation).
11. My business can operate without me for at least one full week without crisis.
12. I have documented processes for the core functions of my business (sales, delivery, finance, hiring).
13. I delegate effectively — I trust my team with important responsibilities and do not micromanage.
14. I view my business as a stewardship (something God entrusted to me) rather than as my identity or my possession.
15. I have at least begun thinking about or planning for succession (who will lead after me).
16. I have a consistent morning routine that includes spiritual, physical, and mental preparation before the day begins.
17. I protect a weekly Sabbath rest — a full day where I stop working and trust God with what remains undone.
18. I regularly review my week, month, and year with intentional reflection and strategic planning.
19. When my discipline breaks (and it does), I recover quickly with grace rather than shame or abandonment.
20. I manage my energy (physical, mental, emotional, spiritual) as carefully as I manage my schedule.
21. I am currently mentoring at least one person with intentional, structured investment in their growth.
22. I have written (or begun writing) a legacy letter to my children or next generation — not just a will, but my values, beliefs, and blessings.
23. I invest a meaningful portion of my time, talent, and treasure into purposes that have eternal significance.
24. I can name 3-5 non-negotiable values that I am actively transmitting to the next generation through my life, not just my words.
25. If I died tomorrow, there are people prepared to continue my mission — in my family, my business, and my community.
